Tough luck for Christopher Hansen. Looks like his request for rehearing at the 9th Circuit was denied on Thursday. Maybe this is the result?

His web site was entertaining though - especially the Who's Who among the "tax honesty" movement.

Domain name resolution for both of those sites is still working, so it is not a name server issue. A trace route to the domains appears to stop at the hosting service. Both websites have the same IP address. It could be the service stopped access, a particular subnet is down, or it could be that the server those websites are on is simply down. I guess we will have to wait and see.

There are google caches for the main pages famguardian and sedm as of 17 July. I just pdf'd them, just in case this really does turn out to be "the end."

Nice to have little souvenirs.

If it is the end, what about poor Bing?

Will he have to come back here again?

One of the Famguardian mirrors is still operating.

Chrissie on mirrors (and paranoia)
Additional factors that also contribute to why you should use a mirror server instead of the main website include the following:

The IRS or the government might try to JAM our website (we're watching for this and we will NAIL them if they do!). The more mirror servers we have, the more difficult it becomes for them to jam ALL of them at once, so that chances are at least one mirror will be fully up at any given time.

Our website has over 3 Gbytes of data and once the web crawlers latch on to it, they can incapacitate our server for days scanning all the content that is found here over our relatively slow link.

This is also a very busy website and you are competing with many other patriotic and God-fearing users for the valuable content found on this site. Our newer users, for instance, usually start with their first visit to the main website at http://famguardian.org. After they have read our help system and become more experienced, they follow our advice and shift to using our faster and closer mirror servers so that more bandwidth is available to newer users. You as an experienced user can contribute to improving the experience for newer users by shifting to a mirror server for all your needs as quickly as you can.

As you may know, our socialist republic occasionally has rolling blackouts, which can render this site unreachable.

The IRS might attempt to raid us in vain hopes of confiscating one of our many servers.

If you experience trouble using our website or poor performance viewing site content, it's probably because of one of the above reasons. The way to avoid these problems is to use one of our fast mirror sites to get much faster performance than the main server (listed with highest preference first):
Actually, an injunction -- served on the relevant ISP -- is a hell of a lot more effective than "jamming."

Looking at famguardian.org, I find the site is up if you reach it by the IP address, and DNS is working on the name servers authoritative for famguardian.org, BUT the domain is not known on the root nameservers so it is not resolvable. So it could be a registrar problem or law enforcement could have asked the registrar to yank it.

That's what I get for not spending enough time investigating.

Lambkin is right in that the famguardian.org domain name is not resolvable by the root servers. Several domain name servers that I use had a cached entry for famguardian and were therefore resolving the name to an IP address. However, I did not query the name servers listed authoritative for famguardian.org and those returned a different IP address. This means that another possibility as to why the site is not available currently is he may have switched hosting providers recently and either the DNS entry has not promulgated through the system yet.

If Mr. Hanssen spoke Russian or Chinese and knew how to get in touch with the right people, he'd have a site that would never go down. (Except for not paying your bills.)

The DOJ would be well advised to implement a "cement shoes" policy. It keeps these pesky things from floating back up to the surface.

Keyboard warning...
I was fortunate in that I found Family Guardian website early on before they started charging for their material and copied the book on a disk. I have spent hours reading the material. I don't think a person could go wrong subscribing to their thoughts on the law.
IMO, Chris Hanson knows more about the law than all of the IRSS agents & U.S. lawyers combined.

What I particularly like about this message is his bragging how he was able to avoid paying for Hanson's garbage. If he really thought that this nonsense is valuable, what does that say about his ethical standards?

The irony is that he will still be putting himself through the wringer following Hanson's instructions.

Well "free2live", guess what: Your opinion is worthless. You are as delusional and clueless as Christopher Hansen and PeterEricBlowhardMeister Hendrickson. And, if the situation arises in a court of law, you will be just as unsuccessful using the "legal" "thoughts" published by the doofus Hansen and the blowhard Hendrickson as they have been. Which is to say: Completely unsuccessful. Losers.

Tell us how you really feel, 'Famspear!' Don't hold back.

I'm gonna agree with 'The Observer' that it's interesting tax protesters always want something for nothing, and they'll gladly take from someone else and claim it as their own.

Maybe not this fellow/gal, but we all know plenty of good examples.

Kind of shows the real motive behind all the tax protesting.

Janiece is one of my favorites over there, she is just a little off even for a tax protestor, her latest "theory, courtesy of Chris Hanson is this
Whether one agrees with it or not, famguardian which links to sedm, was set up for Christians. The statement on the top of the home page reads:

Nonprofit Christian ministry dedicated to protecting American families and individuals from extortion, persecution, exploitation, socialism, divorce, crime, and sin. Advocate personal liberty, personal responsibility, constitutional and SMALL and accountable government, sovereignty, and religious faith

Non-Christians will not understand the whole premise they promote regarding "non-resident alien" status and "domicile". As a Christian we are ambassadors of Christ, living temporarily on earth. We are, in fact, aliens here on earth. Our real home, the one we came from and will return to for eternity is heaven.
I'm sure she'll be getting her levy lifted and her refund any day now.
