Many CID officers for the IRS have backgrounds in law enforcement or accounting.
But, interestingly, this individual is (or was) a lawyer.
I would think that the courts would show even less "leniency" toward trained legal professionals who engage in tax evasion than the average "Jane Winebox" who believes she is not required to file or pay.
Do state bar associations typically disbar attorneys who get into trouble like this? If so, it could be next on the string of sorrows that Mr. Green faces.
