I also suggest (although it would be a bit longer subway ride) Morty's Deli -- previously famous (mentioned on The West Wing) as Krupin's. On Wisconsin Avenue, two blocks north of the Tenleytown subway stop on the red line. As a Jewish-style deli -- without booze -- not likely to be overcrowded for Cinco de Mayo.

I think I should remind people that on May 5th, the Washington DC high tide occurs at 6:40 pm. That may not mean much to anyone else, but those of us who are shape-shifting reptiles have to keep this in mind.

I have confirmed the Quatloos party at Fado's.

May 5th
6:00 to 8:30 pm

Directions:

Fadó Irish Pub
808 7th Street NW
(202) 789-0066

Fadó is located at the corner of 7th and H at the edge of Chinatown just one block from the Verizon Center and just down from the Convention Center. If you are taking the train, the pub is at the Chinatown and Gallery Place Metro stop.

They've given us a semi-private room without any room charge or minimum bar purchase requirement.

Semi-private?

Does that mean others can come in, but we won't be thrown out?

'Round here, 'semi-private' means there's some extra space between your party and the pool tables.

Hope you have fun. I've been to the Fado in Chicago, it's a pretty nice place. Good beer selection. Unfortunately I don't get out to DC very often, which is a shame.

Wish I was there; instead, I'll have to do my drinking tonight at Commander's Palace in New Orleans -- but the company will not be as good.

Have fun.

I almost changed my mind yesterday, but then the reality of my deadlines rose up again.

Next time, for sure.

To all that didn't appear for this stellar event....

You really missed it. This was really a must do event. Names were named, secrets were revealed, the mystical illuminati code was unveiled. That's all I'm gonna say.

Many thanks to Jay and Demo

Any plans to make this an annual event? I'd love to make it next year!

It is indeed an annual gathering that coincides with the ABA conference in DC. This is our third or fourth annual event.
