Update: it appears that the trial date of June 29, 2009, is going forward. I assume the usual members of the NH Illuminati will provide pool coverage.

On Friday, the govt filed a discovery update contining the following:
on April 17, 2009, April 27, 2009 and May 7, 2009, at the request of the government, personnel of the Strafford County Department of Corrections have attempted to deliver the discovery material originally produced, and which has been the subject of prior Status Updates on Discovery, to each of the defendants, and on each of those occasion each of the defendants has refused to accept the discovery material.

The government has recently obtained additional discovery material (hereafter referred to as “supplemental discovery material”) relating to the arrest of Edward and Elaine Brown, which occurred on October 4, 2007. On May 7, 2009, at the request of the government, personnel of the Strafford County Department of Corrections attempted to deliver that supplemental discovery material to each of the defendants and each of the defendants refused to accept it.
The govt goes on to describe how, at the request of standby counsel, they were permitted to visit the Browns' former home in Plainfield, and "were given unrestricted access to the home and surrounding property, and were allowed, without restriction, to take photographs."

What the Browns have turned down in the past:
The discovery materials consist of 27 discs (cd/dvd) and 3993 pages of printed discovery. The 27 discs, which consist largely of audio and video recordings, have been loaded onto a laptop computer which is being provided for your exclusive use.1 Each of the 27 discs have a file name (e.g., Disc 1, Disc 2 . . . Disc 27) and consist of materials and information outlined on the attached Discovery Log.

It is the United States’ understanding that the Strafford County House of Corrections has set reasonable guidelines for the use of the computer. It is further the United States’ understanding that you will not have access to the computer within your jail cell, but will have unlimited access to it throughout the day. In order to allow for your review of discovery within your jail cell, the United States has printed 3993 pages of discovery. The printed discovery is also included on the computer and contained in a file named “Disc 26.”
...
In addition to the discovery provided in written form and on the laptop computer, the United States has possession of a significant quantity of physical evidence. The physical evidence consists of items obtained during the course of the investigation. You will be allowed access to the evidence, but must make arrangements through stand-by counsel in order to review it.

What they will doubtless refuse to accept now:
Disc 28 contains:
A Three (3) page Use of Force Report, relating to your arrest on October 4, 2007, Bates numbered pages 3994 through 3996;
A four (4) page FORM USM-11, Rev. 4/90 unsigned Report of Investigation, dated 10/10/07 relating to your arrest on October 4, 2007, Bates numbered pages 3997 through 4000;
A four (4) page USM FORM-11 (Rev. 4/90) unsigned and undated Report of Investigation relating to your arrest on October 4, 2007, Bates numbered pages 4001 through 4004; and,
Arrest Photographs taken after your arrest on October 4, 2007, Bates numbered pages 4005 through 4072.
Disc 29 contains:
A copy of what is referred to as an Arrest Video, taken after your arrest on October 4, 2007, which has the image of a confidential informant intentionally blurred so it’s identity is not disclosed;
A copy of the same video referenced immediately above, but which has been edited to remove those sections of the video on which the confidential informant’s image appears;
A one page document that is a forensic report describing how the Arrest Video was “blurred,” Bates numbered page 4073.
What a frame job. It must be the Jews, right, Joe?

This is obviously a continuing effort by the government to distract and confuse the Browns with relevant and possibly useful information. Fortunately, the Browns are too smart for that, and will continue their research into the Uniform Commercial Code .

Or they are just nucking futs, Yeah, this is most likely.
Would seem to lend credence to a charge of willful diminished capacity.

Where is the line between stubborn refusal to participate or cooperate in your own defense and diminished capacity? Where is the line between specific intent and insanity?

I think it's a martyr complex on the part of Ed Brown.

Ed already played his stupid games once and lost.

Obstreperous and obnoxious Ed: family fantasy-Federal-UCC, version 2.0 will coincide with an additional 30+ years in the can, the feds will then be done with his useless, narcissistic behind and the only amusement he'll provide now and then will be ridiculous motions or suits from behind his permanent bars.

At some point, he'll die in prison, but by then all of his "supporters" will have long forgotten who he was. Well, except for the four idiots who did stupid, criminal things for him that netted them a collective 50+ years behind federal bars. Somehow, I doubt they'll be erecting any shrines to Ed when they get out.

Unless one (or more of them) decides that with Ed's passing, the mantle of leadership has passed to them. It could be somewhat entertaining if two or more of the Four get this idea at the same time and it descends into a catfight over who was Ed's best friend, who has remained pure and orthodox on Brownology - and who gets to marry Elaine.

As Edward the Greatly Deluded lay dying, his chief followers gathered around him and asked "O Living Soul, to whom do you leave your gibberish?". And Ed looked around and said "To the stupidest!".

And so the chief followers decided to prove once and for all which one of them is the most stoopid.

Actually , I think the race is well under way already, with Danny the Dogwalker in front. Coming a idiotlength (about 2 feet 4) behind is Reno Gonzales, his ranting during allocution almost put him in the lead. But Dogwolker responded with his famous "Sovrun Gibberish Ripped Off Some Internetpage"-move, and maintains the lead.

And the dark horse, Jason. Insiders say he could really be the next big thing in idioting, and he has said some memorable things, but he just don't seem to perform at a consistent level, spending too much time beeing all quiet. Still, we wish the best for this young up-and-coming moron.

And way behind is Bob Wolffe. He really got of to a bad start, taking the stand against the other contestants, and saving himself some jailtime. But he pulled off some really silly rant, and while he is still way behind, he has gotten his speed up.

What penalties does the nutball notary face in NY?

This is not the first time the same nutball notary has done this, and he has been warned before.

A complaint or twenty to the New York Department of State's Division of Licensing Services might well get his ticket pulled. The link in the last sentence is to the proper form, and contains a handy check box for "Notary Public".

Yup. I´m still not convinced that he is out of the game, though.

SheWolffe seems determined to keep him on a tight rein, so we'l just have to hope she's successful.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons web site indicates Robert Wolffe is scheduled for release in about six months:
