Dr. Robert Clarkson passed away on March 1, 2010, after a short battle with cancer. Dr. Clarkson was the founder of the Patriot Network. Its primary goal is to defend the U.S. Constitution through the Tax Freedom Movement. Dr. Clarkson was well-known and beloved by many throughout the United States. He was also misunderstood and despised by others.

The organization that he founded has helped thousands of people realize their relationship with government and government's responsibility to "We the People". He loved America dearly and defended it during the Viet Nam war. He continued to defend his country from its own tyrannical government through the Patriot Network organization. Many testimonies are available on his website to verify the "good fight" that he fought for the "unalienable rights" of all Americans.

Being a descendant of one of the signers of the Constitution, the spirit of the Founding Fathers lived within him. He fought for people's rights because it was right to fight. He was a great benefit for all Americans.

Dr. Clarkson's wish was for his organization to continue to help thousands of people even after his passing. Dr. Clarkson chose a capable legal secretary to lead the organization's operation. With the assistance of a handful of faithful liberty-loving individuals, she will continue to direct the work that Dr. Clarkson had founded. It's expected that she will continue the fight for liberty with the same vigor and determination. She has been directly involved with the organization and has served as assistant to Dr. Clarkson for many years.

There are some pressing needs during the Patriot Network's transitional phase. The new Executive Director will be required to take some additional training and will also need some resources for equipment such as: a lap-top computer, special software, paralegal training, marketing materials, travel expenses, etc. These are necessary for the continuation of the cause that Dr. Clarkson recognized some 30 years ago. The fight must continue but it will require financial assistance from those of us that recognize what Dr. Clarkson exposed years ago.

These are indeed trying times. The economic situation has been devastating to all of us and we are all lacking in necessary resources. But that is the very reason that we should sacrifice and donate toward the work that Dr. Clarkson founded. The Patriot Network is addressing the very problems that got America into the financial predicament that we're in today.

If you can seriously exclude yourself from this appeal, we appreciate your attention. The most interesting part of their announcement needs to be read very carefully:

Those (alleged) thousands are now fully aware that, if they don't pay their taxes, they can lose their savings, homes, and freedom.

Clarkson, like Blowhard Pete, was a master in publicizing winning battles for his clients, while silently losing their wars.

I rather suspect that Clarkson was more of a boon to the IRS considering the amount of fines and the number of penalties his efforts produced.

More to the point I suspect it is the buffets and breakfast places he used to frequent that are now in need of fund raising with out his near constant contribution to their bottom lines. They always forget the poor innocent bystanders. I know there was one he chiefly frequented that may now be in dire financial straits.

I think that's being generous. I predict within eight months, no one will remember Clarkson, "The Great One," and/or Patriot Network; Kris, Tom, and other "officers" of Patriot Network will be unemployed.

As many of you know, I went to Clemson and USC Law with Clarkson. While never friends, we were certainly well- acquainted as young men. Do not forget that he had a tour as an Infantry Lt. in Vietnam. How much that impacted Clarkson, I do not know, but .........

And, he is dead now, at an early age. Hopefully, he can't do any more harm to the gullible, desparate and stupid. Let him RIP.

It looks to me as though the capable (yet nameless) new executive director is looking for some training to improve her job prospects after the current position disappears along with the "network."

Although it's also possible that she needs the paralegal training in order to continue the tradition of UPL (unauthorized practice of law) that Clarkson began.
