Re: In Jail By Consent?
I don't consent to anything except ngupowered 1) giving us citations supporting the premise that consent of defendants is necessary for criminal jurisdiction to attach to them; 2) admitting that he has nothing of the sort; and 3) going away and not bothering us again if he does neither of the first two.
He really belongs on Saving to Suitors or Sui Juris --they'll believe any screwball legal hypothesis, especially if larded with religious references.

Re: In Jail By Consent?
I'm going to have to go ahead and withdraw my consent for anything ngupowered wants, now or at any time in the future, while reserving my right to withdraw my withdrawal of consent at a later date. If I accidentally consented to anything, I now formally unconsent to everything.

Re: In Jail By Consent?
The Ode Of He Who Holds the Delusional Belief That Consent Is Required
'Though a prison term's scheduled for me,
I must say that I cannot agree!
If consent I withhold,
Do you think I'll be told
That the marshal will just set me free?
'Though I might have once said "I consent,"
I am sure, now, it's not what I meant!
I will bellow and wail
If they take me to jail,
And my clothes I will rip up and rent.
Oh, I suffer delusion, no doubt;
If they throw me in prison, I'll pout!
I will pull out my hair,
'Cause it just ain't no fair:
All that wailin' will not get me out!
Others know that I live in a dream
Where "consent" is my recurring theme.
So, I act like a troll
And more nonsense extol;
I just hope I don't run out of steam.
Oh, I argue: "consent is required!"--
But my argument really is tired.
'Though I just keep on tryin',
Nobody is buyin'
This nonsense in which I am mired.

Yes, but you should've known that the situation would eventually provoke / encourage him to this, and you know it never takes much, it was inevitable. This is just one more disruption of harmony we owe Gnuggy for.
The fact that you sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that the “Law of Gravity” is unconstitutional and a violation of your sovereign rights, does not absolve you of adherence to it.

Could'st thou drink a whole pitcher -- or pail?
If we drink all that stuff,
It might get kinda rough!
I just hope that the ale don't go stale!
I presume you're the age of Consent!
Not too young -- can you handle this hint?

Jenny, isn't the ale in the kitchen and webchick can bring one out for ya?
So, it's 3 weeks now. All you come up with are 2 opinions where some guys motion the courts to hear their arguments.
Maybe Olcese and the Justice Court can help you spruce up.

Civics for ngupowered
Ok, i'm going to get serious for a moment. After this i'll not only ignore ng, i'll ignore all discussions involving them.
So here goes:
AUTHORITY COMES FROM CONSENSUS
The Declaration refers to "consent of the governed", but it's not the kind of consent you've been nattering about. The phrase "the governed" refers to the population as a whole, and "consent" refers to the lack of serious opposition by the population. Which is another way of referring to consensus. It's not your "I, as an individual, give you my consent, so you're allowed to govern me". It's "we, as a whole, either approve of this arrangement, or at least acquiesce". There's your "silence gives consent", btw, "acquiesce" means "be quiet".
So in short: Consensus = Approval + Acquiescence. One of the entries in your questionnaire is "majority rule". Historically consensus has rarely been a matter of absolute numbers. It's been a matter of weighted numbers. You also refer to force and threats, that's one way of weighting. "We don't like the king, but we don't like even more having knights burn our homes and stab us; guess we'll put up with him." You mention tradition, that gives rise to social and cultural pressures. Which are another form of weight. "Listen, children, Jesus gives us our kings and bitching about any of them makes Jesus sad." Then there's human nature. "Revolution? Sounds great, but, um, i don't think i can afford to leave my farm just now." And skepticism. "Ok, i can see dying for freedom, i just don't see that this revolution is really about that."
As civilization has progressed we have moved in the direction of consensus reflecting the opinions of a true majority, albeit there's plenty of room for improvement. We've also developed the concept of rights, which are sort of derived from a long term consensus to restrain the effects of a transitory one.
And once a consensus is established, it is binding on every member of the community, including you. And our current consensus has left no room for anyone to willy nilly opt out. What it does allow for, is for itself to be changed through persuasion. Not by sending notices of personal secession, nor by arguing semantics with judges. You have to campaign. You have to offer argument. You have to offer reason to think that change will be worthwhile. Not just the hearty approval of your fellow believers, but the visible acquiescence of a whole lot of people who currently find the status quo to be at least the lesser evil.
Ave et vale.

If you are so ignorant of the law to think that, because the decision of an appellate court is an "opinion", that it's just the justices' guess as to what the law is, rather than a definitive statement of what the law is, you're hopeless.

I wouldn't worry about him getting hurt. There's already such a big void between his ears that exposure to deep space won't make much difference.

You were warned about sexist insults and it's quite clear by your sexist comments that you're looking to get banned.
Well, we don't consent to you turning Quatloos into a hostile environment towards women. Goodbye, troll.
