I hate to disappoint everyone, but the Baron will probably get to stay through Christmas. From SteveUK's link:

Which I interpret to mean, they can only begin the court proceedings on December 23. And that's the Friday before Christmas weekend, when I imagine government offices are closed, or at least not working very hard. It's unlikely they could get a court order, arrange a bailiff, and have the bailiff execute the order in one day. Though that would be a delightful Christmas fuck-you to someone who richly deserves it. If they could pull it off, my heart would grow three sizes that day.

I suspect if he's flooding the government.uk server with huge numbers of emails they are going to get caught in the spam filter and sent directly to to the bin.

2) His service provider will cut him off for using far too much bandwidth.

... and at the destination, the mail will be handled (at least initially) by MessageLabs/Symantec, who should be well placed to filter off any junk that does get that far.

Yup. The emails were refused by the sending mail server.

Rule 1: You can send emails to a maximum of 500 recipients per day through the Gmail website.

Rule 2: If you access Gmail via POP or IMAP clients, like Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, you can send an email message to a maximum of 100 people at a time. This also includes email sent through smtp-relay.gmail.com or smtp.gmail.com servers. If you exceed the limit, your account may be disabled for a day with the error – “550 5.4.5 Daily sending quota exceeded.”

Which is exactly the error message he got. And if his sending mail server rejected the message, it never even reached government email servers. Much less took them down. His "hacking" is really just his own mail service telling him to stop spamming. Some computer genius this guy is. But hey, it's a win-win; he can pretend he hacked the government, and other people are spared having to read his nonsense. Keep fighting the good fight, Baron.
