Why did the court put up with this?

Don't ask me, I have no better idea than you do. Wouldn't happen in the U.S. They'd have him viewing from a holding cell after a couple of days of it. As I've said elsewhere murder trials in Canada, even ones as open-and-shut as this, take forever. Six months is not unusual.Siegfried Shrink wrote:Why did the court put up with this?

By the way, Colin got him to plead a Crawfordesque 'No case to answer' at court which was rejected and a not guilty plea entered on his behalf. Oh dear.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-42748351An autistic man who had a criminal behaviour order (CBO) imposed on him for repeatedly filming police officers has lost his appeal against the order. Marcus Potter, 20, from Wymondham, Norfolk, was sentenced for public order offences and obstructing the police.
He was given a conditional discharge and CBO but has been held in Norwich Prison for breaching the order in November 2017. A King's Lynn Crown Court judge dismissed the appeal.
Judge David Radford said he was satisfied that Potter understood the terms of the CBO, which banned him from Norwich city centre. The judge said there was evidence that the order was helpful and should stand.

That looks like a very inappropriate legal sledgehammer being used to crack a nut to me. So the guy is a nuisance to the cops... Yeah yeah... Sorry Norfolk Constabulary... Stop being so bloody precious. Jail is clearly neither appropriate nor proportionate given the guy's clear problems...Hercule Parrot wrote:Mission Accomplished -getoutofdebtfools wrote:Just by way of a bit of background to my post above, the purported autistic guy has a Youtube channel called Potters Police Videos where he goes round filming the Police and taking their badge numbers etc. Autistic or not he's clearly likes aggravating a situation so it's no surprise he has been charged and convicted.

I have my doubts that any such support is or was forthcoming. Something may have happened though as there have not been any new uploads for 6 months."Oliver Haswell, prosecuting, said a joint report by psychiatrists for the prosecution and the defence found that Potter required specialist mental health support to help prevent him reoffending."

Nita Benfield, Crawford supporter and frequenter of every UK FMOTL page known to man, is now bankrupt. She put out a FB appeal for a McKenzie Friend shortly before the hearing.

It seems efforts were made prior to bankruptcy to sell the house she lives in. Nice place and well worth the asking price: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for ... 22244.html
Given her longstanding embrace of woo, and the fact she's only now been bankrupted (the lack of info on the register suggests she's been uncooperative), it's possible she started out in a decent position and it's the FMOTL antics that brought her down.

Nita posts everywhere about all things footle. Before the Sovs FB went private there wasn’t a battle she hadn’t won, a bailiff she hadn’t seen off with magic words, special letters or a court that didn’t bow to her legal brilliance.
Emperors new clothes in the end.
I guess bankruptcy is the final destination for most of our current crop of woo- meisters.
The property looks lovely and I’m betting there’s a shedload of equity in it.
Crazy antics - crazy lady.

I would count myself lucky to have a home like that, and spend more of my time making sure I kept it.exiledscouser wrote:The property looks lovely and I’m betting there’s a shedload of equity in it.

Very nice house, and looks like some sports car by the garage (car #4) so it seems she isn't doing to bad for someone that emersed in the woo.

As with the Paul Michaels case, seeing an awful lot of people with an awful lot of equity getting into tricky situations.houseoflard wrote:Nita Benfield, Crawford supporter and frequenter of every UK FMOTL page known to man, is now bankrupt. I’m guessing they’ve not being very sensible with cash and extended their earnings to the limit for some of these properities.
Rather than been honest with themselves, they’ve chosen to believe property is a god given right.....
As I’ve said before no sympathy. The second it becomes apparent you won’t be able to afford repayments it’s best to sell and settle.

Who is the petitioner? i.e. who is after the money off her?

Not sure. The initial hearing was in October 2017 but the petitioners weren’t mentioned.
However , she was having beef with Coventry Council re:CT back in 2014

Wow, I had forgotten that GOOFY was still online, all that nonsense perfectly sealed into a time capsule when the shutters came down (May 2017). It hasn't lost any of its naive hilarity, I'm just re-reading Mark Colon's fairy-tale epic 2013 topic on liens (http://www.getoutofdebtfree.org/forum/v ... 09&t=47379).SteveUK wrote:However , she was having beef with Coventry Council re:CT back in 2014

The excitement amongst the deadbeats and debtdodgers is palpable, they're beside themselves with glee because they think the magic secret is revealed. Bank managers will lose their homes due to personal liability, job centre staff will go to jail, council employees will abandon their posts and flee rather than face a "three letters foisted contract lien". Such heroes as Simon Spaniard, Winston Shrouts and Chief Rock surely cannot be wrong. Maritime liens, the supreme jurisdiction of the Post Office, Guy Taylor's imminent victories etc.

Chief Rock for one, has moved on to other things. He's hoping for a career in music and is promoting his group Enter Tribal. Here's one of their videos, filmed in Vancouver. The opening shot is absolutely classic East Vancouver, driving west on Hastings towards Commercial. I was just pubbing right in that area tonight.Hercule Parrot wrote:Wow, I had forgotten that GOOFY was still online, all that nonsense perfectly sealed into a time capsule when the shutters came down (May 2017). You can see the Chief, briefly in the video.
This one is almost entirely the Chief;

Not my kind of music but I'm a geriatric dinosaur who likes 1950s jazz and Bach. At least the Chief is in there trying.

Do you think he actually has an appeal, as in actual proceedings? The videos on brief review appear to just be him explaining why he doesn't agree with stuff.Siegfried Shrink wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1qykfv1odo
