Good Advice from a CtC regular

Post by jkeeb »

PLease chime in with OFF RECORD suggestions for entertainment purposes of only of course!

Convinced friend to do CtC filings for all years.

She received IRS Summons for books and records and unfiled returns for May 1st (Tuesday)

Wrote 4 page letter citing Shulz v US, etc, etc. (not enough info here, I know) and she has little records she can show them...

She does not plan to go to summons.

Filed regular 1040s 00, 01 and 02

Years in question are 00 to 06

Will file all years (1040x +1040s) ala CtC next month [ASAP].

Her question, is it relatively safe to ignore IRS summons if she does CtC filings for all years ASAP.

She is considering going to court to quash IRS summons.

She is familiar w/ PHs Summons Paper..
I guess this is how they start. Six years, six frivolous returns.[/b]

In the above case, the "friend" gets $3000 in frivolous filing penalties. What liability does "juju" have in the matter?

jkeeb, you are wrong. It's not $3,000.

It'll be $30,000. The penalty is now $5,000 per friv - not $500.

With that $30k will be a lien and most likely levies.

And CtC keeps on working......
Gosh that sounds like the scenario for me for 2000 and 2001. After adverse decision from CDPH, I received final Notice of Intent to Levy and Notice of Intent to Lien. I now receive 15% of my net income every two weeks and have a lien on my house. This is a great life!!

Well, if David would ever come clean about his termination of liens, he could show that CtCer how to get that wage levy released.
